Candidates who may not have previous experience of manual handling awareness. However they should have no heart problems, respiratory problems, weak or damaged back or hernias and they should have a reasonable degree of physical fitness
On completion of the course, candidates will have an understanding of manual handling awareness. They will be able to describe the principles of kinetic lifting, demonstrate a base lift, be able to explain the principles of risk assessment with regards to manual handling activities and identify alternatives to manual handling.
